SIMPHONi is a most comprehensive network independent
IN/WIN/CAMEL Service Platform supporting multiple
technology standards. The platform is compatible
with and serves the needs of GSM, CDMA, fixed
line and the data network operators in providing
a robust, scalable, reliable feature packed
platform.
The platform supports CAMEL, INAP, WIN and ISUP.
The platform is based on an innovative patent pending
T-DiSP architecture. The
architecture is a breakthrough in the area of distributed
computing and high availability using off the shelf
hardware.
The services offered on the SIMPHONi platform are :
Prepaid Service
The prepaid service is a real-time rating and billing
service that enables a subscriber to establish a debit
account with the operator. As the subscriber makes and
receives calls, the account is charged. The subscriber
can use the service till the amount in the account is
depleted. The account can be replenished by using the
recharge mechanism to recharge the account with a specified
amount.
Calling Card
The service allows the subscribers to make calls from
any telephone and have the charges of the calls levied
to the calling card. The Calling Card Service can be
accessed by dialing an access code. The service allows
the operators to package various options attractively
taking into account various calling patterns and geography
of calling.
Number Translation Services
Advanced Freephone
This service allows a reverse charging, the subscriber
accepting to receive calls at his expenses and being
charged for the whole cost of the call. Also the service
allows
the served user having one or several installations to
be reached from all or part of the country, or internationally
as appropriate, with one freephone number. The routing
can be origin dependent or time dependent.
Universal Access Number (UAN)
This service allows a subscriber to publish a single
number for all the telephone numbers that he can be accessed.
Routing to the appropriate number can be configured by
the subscriber through an IVR or the WEB.
Mass Calling and Televoting
This service allows the subscriber to propose a phone
voting, the user being asked either to ring a specific
number according to his choice, or to ring a unique number
and, after prompting, to give his choice by keyboard
or by voice dialogue.
Televoting enables subscribers to survey public opinion
using the telephone network. Persons wishing to respond
to an opinion poll can call advertised televoting numbers
to register their votes. The charging is to the discretion
of the service subscriber.
Using this service, the network operator can temporarily
allocate numbers to the served user. Each time a call
is made to one of the numbers by an end user, the user
will be played an announcement acknowledging the call,
and a count of calls made to this number will be incremented.
When televoting has ceased, the network operator will
supply details of the total numbers of calls made to
each number to the served user and the special numbers
will be reallocated. Calls made to these special numbers
may be charged at varying rates.
Incoming call screening (ICS)
The ICS service allows the service subscriber to screen
his incoming mobile phone calls.
Main screening features include Selective Call Acceptance,
Selective Call Rejection and Password Call Acceptance
Virtual Private Network (VPN)
A VPN is a public network based service for interconnecting
corporation locations (regional, national, international).
VPN can be configured in the Fixed/GSM/CDMA networks.
The service uses the public switched network to provide
features and capabilities of a private network such as
private numbering plan, private access, multiple locations
and customer control over network administration.
